LOZNA

District/county (județ) : Botoșani

Stema Lozna

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 24, 2015.

The green willow gives the name of the commune, which comes from the word "loz" (ЛoзЬ) = willow, in old Slavonic.

The two spade blades represent the tools for cutting and removing peat, one of the traditional and modern occupations specific to the inhabitants.

The convex terrace symbolizes a visual representation of the characteristic landscape of the area, in which the peat bogs (black) alternate with the fields cultivated with cereals (gold).

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
