Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1916.

The arms show the Mølleåen, or water-mill river, who supplied energy to the town since medieval times. The crown indicates the fact that the town was also names Royal Lynby as it was a royal possession. The berry branches (lyng) are canting.
