Selected collector's items from Germany:

MAICHINGEN

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Böblingen
Incorporated into : 1971 Sindelfingen

Wappen von Maichingen

Official blazon

In Gold eine aufrechte grüne Eichel mit grünem Stiel.

Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of the town dates from 1565 and already shows the acorn. At the same time a village sign was used, consisting of a demi-circle. The combination of the two somehow was transformed into an orb in the middle of the last century. The orb also appeared in the seals and even in non-official arms in the 1920s. The arms were finally granted in 1938 and are thus based on the oldest seal.
