MARGANELL

Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona

Escudo de Marganell/Arms (crest) of Marganell
Official blazon
Catalan Escut caironat: d'atzur, una arpa d'or acompanyada de 3 còdols malordenats d'argent. Per timbre, una corona mural de poble.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms show a harp, symbolizing Santa Cecília de Montserrat, the monastery that has been the traditional centre of the municipality; in fact, this was the former official name of the municipality itself. The three stones allude to the martyrdom of St. Stephen, the local patron saint.
