In Silber eine auf einem waagrechten grünen Zweig sitzende schwarze Eule. Origin/meaningThe oldest seal of the town dates from the late 16th century and shows a canting owl (Eule) on a rock. Later the owl was placed in a shield and the rock was replaced by a small branch. The colours have not changed since the mid 19th century, still the owl was often shown in natural colour, see the image from Hupp below:
