MAURICE TAYLOR

Born : May 5, 1926
Deceased :

Bishop of Galloway, 1981-2004

Arms (crest) of Maurice Taylor

Official blazon

Argent a saltire wavy Sable cantonned between in chief an estoile and in base a heart and in each flank a cross botonee Gules.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1981.

Bishop Taylor's arms are a differenced version of those matriculated in Lyon Register in 1772 by John Taylor.

Although the blazo states Sable, the wavy saltire was used in blue by the bishop.
