  • (de) Geviert; 1: in Blau ein goldenes, aus der Teilungslinie hervorgehendes Kleeblattkreuz; 2: in Rot ein silberner Eichenzweig mit einer Eichel zwischen zwei nach auswärts geneigten Blättern; 3: in Rot zwei silberne Pfähle; 4: in Blau der goldene Unzialbuchstabe L.

Origin/meaning

The arms show the cross and pales from the diocesan arms impaled with the personal arms of the bishop. The oak branch is a canting symbol (eiche = oak), the L is taken from the arms of the Abbey of St. Lambrecht, where he was monk and abbot before becoming a bishop.
