Un scut cu partea inferioară rotunjită, fiind împărțit în formă de furcă răsturnată. În primul cartier, în câmp roșu se află o carte deschisă, o călimară și o pană de scris, toate de aur. În cartierul al doilea, în câmp argintiu se află o amforă roșie, respectiv o podoabă romană, neagră. În partea de jos a scutului, în câmp albastru este ruina unui teren de argint. Scutul este trimbrat de o coroană murală de argint, cu un turn crenelat.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 21, 2004.
The book, the pen and the writing pen symbolize the activity of the chronicler Nicolae Stoica de Hațeg.
The Roman amphora and ornament symbolize the fact that the town was a famous Roman colony.
The ruins of the land symbolize the tower on Barcan Hill.
The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
