Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, scartelat. În partea superioară, în dreapta, în câmp roșu, se află un soare figurat de aur, iar în partea superioară, în stânga, în câmp albastru, se află o semilună figurată de aur. În partea inferioară, în dreapta, în câmp albastru, se află un meteorit de argint. În partea inferioară, în stânga, în câmp roșu, se află o cunună de spice de grâu de aur. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

The sun and the crescent come from the historical seals of the area. The meteorite symbolizes the fact that on February 3, 1882, a meteorite fell on the territory of the commune, of which over 100,000 pieces were collected; a fragment weighing 35.7 kg was found on the territory of the locality, being the largest meteorite ever fallen in Romania.

The wreath of wheat ears symbolizes the fact that the area was considered the "Granary of Transylvania". Also, the wreath represents the symbol of the Harvest Fair, which is organized annually in the commune of Mociu on August 16, as well as the folk festival "The game on the plain", which is organized annually on the first Sunday of September.

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
