Administrative division

Monaco is the second smallest country (by size) in the world; only Vatican City is smaller. The state consists of only one municipality (commune), also named Monaco.

Until 1917 there were three municipalities : Monaco, Monte Carlo and La Condamine.

The arms of the city and country are the same.
