Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 16, 1985.
Unfortunately I have no background information on these arms. Any information is welcome !
Previously the city used the arms below, which were not officially granted. The design of the shield is the same, but the crown and motto were not according to Portuguese standards.
