Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in 2021.
The blue and golden colours are those of the Maine region, in which the village is situated. The eagle is the symbol for St. John, the patron saint of the local church. The tree symbolises the local forest, the tower the Védrenas Castle in the municipality. The fourth quarter refers to the local hills.
The Templar cross refers to the fact that the local church was under the COmmandery of the Templars in Bourganeuf, and the village of Martys was a personal possession of the commander.
