Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted in 1977 and are based on the arms of Nykøbing on Mors (see there).

The dove is changed and is now facing right. The colour was changed from blue to red, to symbolise the Knights Templar who had a large monastery in the area. Also the colours of the branch were changed.
