NAANTALI MAALAISKUNTA

Region : Varsinais-Suomi
Former province : Länsi-Suomi (until 1997 Turku and Pori)
Incorporated into : 1964 Naantali

Naantalin maalaiskunta Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Official blazon

Mustassa kentässä kultainen, ulkoreunaltaan liekkikoroinen vihkiristi.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 24, 1958.

The arms show a wooden sun, which used to be placed on the border between the town and the countryside. It is supposed to refer to the saying, 'Shine like the sun of Naantali'.
