Origin/meaning

The sprig of green maple leaves is taken from the emblem of the Junior Canadian Rangers. The central device of the badge of the Canadian Armed Forces is found on the cap badge of the Cadet Instructor Cadre. Together, these elements allude to the organizations that comprise the Group, namely the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, the Royal Canadian Army Cadets, the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and the Junior Canadian Rangers. These Latin words mean “Youth, leadership, citizenship” and allude to the Group’s core tenets of focussing on youth while fostering leadership and good citizenship among young Canadians. The badge was approved on 15 January 2020.
