German Gespalten von Silber und Grün, vorn ein wurzelloser grünbeblätterter schwarzer Baum neben einem schwarzen Baumstumpf, hinten drei silberne Wellenbalken; im goldenen Schildfuß ein geflügeltes schwarzes Rad.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1991.

The indicate, on the one hand, the previously destroyed environment (tree stump) and, on the other hand, the revival of nature (tree). The six leaves stand for the six former municipalities.

The three waves symbolize the Pleiße river and the winged wheel stands for the railway settlement at Kieritzsch station and the location as a railway junction.
