Origin/meaning

Neusat already had its own seal in the 16th century. The seal showed a shield with in the right half the arms of Baden and in the left half a grape-cutting knife. A later seal, dating from 1690 showed the present arms. In the 19th century the seals showed a vine. When the municipality wanted approved arms in 1900, the State Archives proposed the arms from 1690, which were approved in September 1900. The meaning or origin of the bar and balls is not known.
