- (de) In Silber ein roter bezinnter Torbau, mit blauem Kuppeldach, goldbeknauft und mit rotem Fähnchen, sowie mit geschlossenem blauen Tor; auf den Mauerzinnen einander zugewendet vorn ein aufgerichteter neunmal von Silber über Rot geteilter Löwe, mit den Vorderpranken die Kuppel berührend, hinten ein schreitender roter Elch.

The arms were officially granted on December 6, 1993, but probably were designed around 1687.
The arms show a typical baroque city wall, with a lion and a deer. The lion is derived from the arms of the Counts of Hessen-Homburg, as the counts had acquired the city in 1662. The deer refers to the Swedish wife of count Friedrich II of Hessen-Homburg.
