History: Formed at Petite Snythe in November 1916 as No 7 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service. Becoming on 1 April 1918 No 207 Squadron, RAF.

Origin/meaning

The badge granted in May 1936 is based on an unofficial device previously used. The Motto translates as "Always prepared".
