History: Formed at Dishforth in January 1948.
Official blazon
Badge: On a terrestial globe a York Rose.
Motto: Teach well.
Origin/meaning
The York Rose alludes to the location of the Unit in Yorkshire. It also symbolises the York Aircraft flown when the Badge was granted. The Globe symbolises the Worldwide Area of Operations the Trainees will serve. The badge was granted in March 1949.
