Origin/meaning

The Anchor recalls the Convoy Escort Duty undertaken in World War I. The Ferret alludes to the Intruder Operations flown in World War II, the Ferret being known for seeking out its prey on its Opponents Ground. The Motto translates as "Strength to strength". The Badge was approved in March 1948.
