History: Formed at Reykjavik in April 1941. After World War II transfered to the Norwegian Air Force.

Origin/meaning

The Viking Ship alludes to Norway. The Sun alludes to the fact that the Sun will not set on this squadron. The Motto translates as "Guarding the seas". The Badge was granted in April 1943.
