History: Formed as No 75 (New Zealand) Squadron, Royal Air Force. The Number was transferred to the Royal New Zealand Air Force on 1 April 1946.

Motto: Ake ake kia kaha = For ever and ever be strong.
Origin/meaning
The two Hammers are form the coat of Arms of New Zealand, the Tiki is included to commemorate the Squadron's composition of New Zealanders. Who at the outbrea of World War II were training in the UK to fly Wellington Bombers. The badge was approved in February 1943. Originally the designation of the badge was Royal Air Force, it was changed to Royal New Zealand Air Force in April 1958.
