NO 827 SQUADRON, FAA

History: First formed in 1940 at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton (HMS Heron), Somerset as a Torpedo-Spotter-Reconnaissnce Squadron. served in Norwegian Waters on HMS Furious 1941-1944. Disbanded 1946. After various duties finally reformed in 1954 at Royal Naval Air Station Ford with Westland Wyverns until disbanded in 1955.

Official blazon
English Per fess wavy white and barry of six blue and white a rod of Caduceus and a trident in saltire gold chief a winged cap red.

Motto: Ya mansur amit.

Origin/meaning

Caduceus alludes to Mercury Messenger of the Gods symbolising the Reonnaissance Role. The Arabic Motto translates as "O conqueror, fight desperatley". The Badge was approved on 27 May 1944.
