Origin/meaning
The arms are based on the arms of Karlsruhe, with the point reaching the northwestern point of the shield, making it a canting symbol. The chestnut leaf has seven smaller leaves, which stand for the seven settlements in the borough. The chestnut is a common tree in the city.
