OEPPING

State : Oberösterreich
District : Rohrbach

Oepping.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on May 28, 1984.

The arms are a combination of the wolf of the State of Passau in the upper half, and a tree trunk in the lower half. The village historically was part of the State of Passau. The tree trunk symbolises the clearing of the forests, necessary for the development of the village, as well as forestry in general.

Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
