Selected collector's items from Germany:

OLDENDORF

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Stade
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Oldendorf

Wappen von Oldendorf (Stade)

Official blazon

(de)

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 30, 1982.

The golden cross in green symbolises the St. Martin's church in Oldendorf, which was already the main church in the area in the Middle Ages. The green colour symbolises the agricultural character of the municipality. The eagle and lion are taken from the arms of Daniel von Arentsschild, who had his estate in the village and was ennobled by the Swedish kings in the 1650s. He died in 1670 and is buried in the local church.
