ORAVIȚA

District/county (județ) : Caraș-Severin

Stema Oravița

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 19, 2006.

The two masks and the curtain remind of the traditional theatrical activity, in this locality being the "Mihai Eminescu" Theater, the oldest theater in the country built in 1817 and which today houses the Museum of Cărășene Culture.

The railway viaduct is an architectural element specific to the town. The curved terrace shows the presence of a hilly relief, the locality being at the foot of the Anina Mountains.

The mural crown with three crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
