Template:Sweden ORSA

Province (Landskap): Dalarna
County (Län): Dalarnas län

Orsa kommunvapen

Official blason

I fält av guld tre röda orsaslipstenar, ordnade två och en.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 16, 1943.

The arms show three stones used for sharpening knives. The 18th century seal of the village already showed such a stone, whereas a stone has been used as a symbol for the village already in the 16th century. The stone symbolises the main stone quarries in the village of Kallmora. The stones were often decorated in the way as shown on the arms as a kind of trademark for the region.

Arms of Orsa

The seal from 1714.
