Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 24, 1818 and completely redesigned and granted on October 5, 1928.

The first arms simply refer to agriculture and show farmer's tools. The arms have no historical meaning and were designed for the small agricultural village in 1818.

The second arms shows the arms of the Lalaing family. The village had been in the possession of a number of families during the centuries, one of these was the Lalaing family. Why exactly these family arms were chosen among the many former lords is not clear.
