Diocese: České Budějovice
Vicariate: Sušice-Nepomuk
Denomination : Roman Catholic

Arms of Parish of Kotouň

Official blazon

Polcený štít, v jehož pravé modré polovině zlatý půlměsíc a nad ním stříbrná lilie převýšená zlatou listovou korunou. V levé červené polovině modro - stříbrně šachované břevno.

Origin/meaning

The crescent, lily and crown are symbols of the Virgin Mary, symbolising the parish Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The chequered bar is from the arms of the Janovský of Janovice family, patrons of the church between 1703 and 1705 who gave the church its current baroque form.
