SAINT POPE PAUL VI
Official name : Giovanni Battista Montini
Archbishop of Milano, 1954-1963
Cardinal 1958
Pope from : 1963-1978
Canonised as saint 2018
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
Paul VI used the arms of the Montini Family. The arms are partially canting, Montini means 'small mountains' The family arms were slightly more complicated and when he became Archbishop of Milano he simplified the arms to the design above. He did not change his arms when becoming Pope.
