Blason de Pillac

Official blason

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on December 10, 2021.

The first quarter is taken from the arms of the Angoumois region, in which the village is situated. The green elm tree refers to the forest and the longtime relation between the villagers and the forests.

The third quarter refers to agriculture and the three stalks refer to the different crops grown in the municipality. The fourth quarter shows the symbol of the Camino de Santtiago, the pilgrim road to Santiago de Compostela, on which the village is situated.

The inescucheon shows the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the lion of Aquitaine
