Coupé: au 1er de gueules parti à l'église fortifiée d'or et à trois lions couronnés du même rangés en bande, au 2e d'azur à deux canons d'or passés en sautoir accompagnés à dextre d'une fleur de lis et à senestre d'une crosse, le tout du même.

Origin/meaning

The church symbolises the twelfth century church fortified by the bishops of Périgueux, the three crowned lions are those of the Périgord. The cannons in the lower half indicate that the Royal Forge in Plazac made the guns for the Navy in Rochefort. The fleur-de-lys is a royal symbol, the crosier symbolises the bishops of Périgueux.
