It became the residence of the Counts of Everstein in 1284 and in 1408 the castle and village were acquired by the Dukes of Braunschweig-Lüneburg. Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1934 and show the former Polle castle, dating from the 12th century. It became the residence of the Counts of Everstein in 1284 and in 1408 the castle and village were acquired by the Dukes of Braunschweig-Lüneburg. The crest above the castle and the small lion are derived from the arms of the Dukes.
