Incorporated into : 1977 Celles

Armoiries de Pottes

Official blazon

Burelé d'argent et d'azur de dix pièces, à la bande de gueules brochant sur le tout et chargée de trois pots d'or.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 22, 1924.

The arms are derived from the arms of the first Lords of Pottes. Their arms were mentioned in 1334 for Thierry de Pottes. The arms consisted a divided shield within the dexter half three canting pots, and in the sinister half the above arms, but with three shells instead of three pots. To simplify the arms of the family, the pots replaced the shells in the arms of the municipality.
