The lion, a sign of vigilance and sovereignty, holds the crescent, an Arab symbol with whom said battle was held. The checkerboards represent the battlefield and its brave warriors. The wild and flat landscape is representative of where the Unit receives its name. The present Regimental coat of arms was approved on 13 May 1992. | |||
