Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on November 24, 2022.

The rose has a complicated origin, Récit court can be translated as 'short story' and to represent this, a short stiry (the Ode to the Rose) by the 16th century French poet Ronsard was chosen.

The silver lion on red is, with inverted colours, the arms of the Hautoy de Recicourt family longtime lords of the village. The bunch of grapes reminds us that the hillsides, facing south and west, were once covered with vines; it also emphasizes that the church is dedicated to Saint Vincent, patron saint of winegrowers.

The wood chisel and the carpenter's mallet illustrate the importance of forests and the wood industries of the past; the village had sawmills, turneries, chairs and armchair factories.
