Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1901 and show the arms of the Pfau family, Lords of Rüppur.

This family owned the village from medieval times until the late 16^th century. The local council continued to use the arms, as in the 19^th century a seal with the arms was used. In 1901 the arms were granted in the historical colours.
