RAUENTAL

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Rastatt
Incorporated into : 1972 Rastatt

Wappen von Rauental/Arms (crest) of Rauental
Official blazon
German In Gold das rote Dorfzeichen (ein Winkelmaß, den Winkel links und abwärts kehrend).
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The oldest known seal of the village dates from 1777 and is actually not the seal of the village, but of the sheriff Michael Götzmann. The seal shows the old village sign of Rauental under a crown, but not placed in a shield. The meaning or origin of the symbol is not known.

The arms were officially granted in 1901 in the colours of the Baden, to which the village belonged.
