Official blazon

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a yellow disc a panther’s head couped in profile black, pupil of eye and nose scarlet, teeth and eye yellow, all surrounded by a blue scroll bordered inside and outside with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border and inscribed “REDFORD UNION” at the top and “HIGH SCHOOL” at the bottom in yellow letters. The overall dimension is 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel device consisting of a blue disc charged with a pair of gold arms issuing from left and right and grasping hands over a gold sun with nine rays to chief. Attached below the disc is a gold scroll inscribed “ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING” in blue letters. The device is 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Blue and gold are the school colors. The school mascot is the panther which signifies the strength and endurance of the cadets.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Blue and gold are the school colors. The sun signifies the quest for knowledge, and the clasped hands denote the cadets’ involvement in their community and their civic pride.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved 29 September 1994.
