RENFREWSHIRE

The Area council was formed in 1996 from the previous Renfrew District Council.

Official blazon

Azure, a lymphad, sails furled Argent, on a shield Or pendant from the mast a fess chequy of the First and Second.
Above the Shield is placed a coronet appropriate to a statutory Area Council, videlicet:issuant from a circlet eight paling piles (three and two halves visible) Or and eight garbs (four visible) of the Last, banded Sable.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 16, 1996 and are identical to those of the Renfrew District Council, only with a new crown.
