Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 8, 1980.

The division of the arms symbolises the two former municipalities. Oberriedenberg was part of the State of Würzburg, which is symbolised by the colours of of Würzburg, silver and red. Unterriedenberg was part of the State of Fulda, and the silver and black are the colours of Fulda. The wavy bar is the small stream that formed the border between the two villages and States. The base shows a caning mountain (Berg).
