Wappen von Ronshausen/Arms (crest) of Ronshausen
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 7, 1975.

Already in 1960 the municipality designed arms for the village, but these were too crowded and never officially approved or granted. After the merger with Machtlos is became apparent that new arms were needed.

A number of proposals were made, but none was deemed heraldically suitable. After a lot of correspondence the above arms were finally approved.

The 'cloudy' chief represents the blue sky and healthy air in the village and also indicates the former status of a clean-air spa resort. The hill and the oak tree symbolise the geographical situation (hilly terrain) and the presence of forests, dominated by oak trees. Also, may local geographical designations refer to 'oak' in the name.

The bend refers to the fact that the village was for many centuries strategically positioned between the Fulda and Werra valleys. The Counts of Hessen therefore erected a toll station, which is symbolised by the bend (the bar blocking the road).

The cross in the upper corner is taken from the arms of the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district.
