Origin/meaning

The first and fourth quarter show the arms of the Diocese of Regensburg. Over the divsion line of the quartering is a small cross symbolising Christianity. The bridge is a symbol for Jesus, being a bridge between God and humanity. The third quarter shows a Bible.
