Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 16, 1953.
The arms show a canting rooster for the Lords of Ruisbroek from 1738-1793, the family Lecocq ('the rooster'). The local council already used the arms on its seal in 1757, but the municipality never applied for arms prior to 1951.
Literature: Servais, 1955
