Coroa Mural de cinco torres de prata. Listel branco, com dizeres a negro: " CIDADE DE S. JOÃO DA MADEIRA ".

The chief, with the word LABOR (work) in it, means that it was because of all the work from it's "Unhas Negras" (Black Fingernails, workers' dirty hands from working hard) that São João da Madeira developed and became an modern town.
