Escudo de azul, baluarte de prata realçado de negro, frestado de vermelho e movente de campanha ondada de prata e verde de cinco tiras, tendo brocante um cachalote de ouro, realçado de negro; em chefe, cruz da Ordem de Cristo, perfilada de ouro. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda, em maiúsculas : “ S. MATEUS DA CALHETA “.
