Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 20, 1997.

The base shows the Estrela Mountain range near the parish and the Zêzere river. The two keys symbolise the local patron saint, St. Peter, the star also refers to the Estrela (estrela=star) mountains. The water wheel symbolises industry.
