Badge: On a field Argent, a scorpion passant in bend sinister Gules, all whitin a cicular border of cable Or, ensigned with tha crest of the arms of the Republic of South Africa proper, upon a tablet Or, bearing the name SCORPION in letters Sable.

Origin/meaning

The badge is canting showing a Scorpion. This is the Land Base of the Missile Strike Craft of the South African Navy which is armed with Scorpion Missiles (Local name of the Israeli Gabriel Missile).
